Through the vision of many, a new McIver’s Grant Public Library building was created in 2010. This journey originated through the love of the Dyer County Community and the need to establish a modern public library capable of providing for the needs of its citizens. Funds were needed to realize the vision and the financial arm became The Foundation, McIver’s Grant Public Library.
The Foundation quickly began the process of obtaining funds through grants and personal donations.
Many in the community, businesses as well as individuals, were receptive and generous to support through monetary means. In a short period of time, the ground was breaking to begin the construction of the library facility.
McIver’s Grant Public Library opened for business on April 2nd, 2013 with 1000’s books and resources available to the general public. The Library also offered many other amenities such as meeting rooms, computer stations, a lovely garden, and a large, beautiful children’s section.
The Foundation Board consists of business professionals, individuals who wish to support the Library, and long-time patrons of the Library. These individuals continue to work tirelessly and selfless to offer library resources to all of Dyer County and the surrounding areas.
The Foundation continues to thrive today through the hard-working, dedicated Board Members that openly serve. The Foundation established many avenues of giving through fundraising campaigns, 1-5 year pledges, and 1-time large donations. As we move into the next decade of 2020 and beyond, The Foundation has shifted to a modern approach to giving with access to on-line donations, monthly re-occurring giving and large annual gifts through direct transfer.
